But I changed my mind!

My PC was getting so slow and my company Miss Design has been doing very well this year. I have done quite a few projects and I was able to pay for a nice iMac. The reason I chose an iMac over a MacBook Pro did have something to do with my slow, old computer. But also because we are currently looking into buying our first home. And in that first home I want my own office. If I have a decent office, I can ask clients to drop by rather than me always having to travel to the clients. And then I'd really rather look at a decent size iMac than a relatively small MacBook.

I will continue to save for my future MacBook Pro (or maybe a MacBook Air?) though. Because although I do love the iMac, it isn't particularly easing to carry around.

Progress:

 €2,178.00 of €2,178 (100%) saved so far.

iMac 21,5"

Why I'd want to have a Mac:

Macs. Some say they're only for pretentious snobs who're simply not smart enough to use Windows, and as a result shell out an extra 1000 Euro's/Dollars to get a Mac, because Apple claims Macs are 'easier and safer' to use, even though you can get the same kind of hardware with Windows for a much cheaper price.

And the people who say this are absolutely right. Most Mac users are pretentious snobs who're...well you get the idea.

But some of those users aren't. Some of them have been using Windows for years, and are just fed up with it: The driver errors, the slow performance, viruses and spyware and the nightmares of getting everything clean again (or at least trying to until you give up and format your hard drive...again).

And then you know there's a better alternative. A system where the hardware Just Works™ (well most of the time), where there's nearly no spyware to be seen, and where developers actually make great useful software, because they actually give a shit.

And that's basically why I'd like to have a Mac. I mean, I've been using Windows for over 16 years now, (And I'm only 21! Go figure!) and I think I've experienced enough to say that I really could use some change of scenery on my desk, even though it's going to cost me a fortune.

Progress:

 €1,517.00 of €1,517 (100%) saved so far.
